Brazil: Egg shipments grow 22.1 percent in January

Export revenue in January totaled US$ 4.186 million, a balance 22.8% higher than that obtained in January last year, with US$ 3.408 million.

The United Arab Emirates were the destination for 783 tonnes (-22%), followed by Sierra Leone, with 352 tonnes (+583%), the United States, with 220 tonnes (+33%), Japan, with 205 tonnes (+28%), and Mexico, recently opened to the sector, with 172 tonnes.

"There has been a broad resumption of import flows by the United Arab Emirates in recent months, which, combined with the recent opening of Mexico and demand from Sierra Leone, had a significant influence on egg exports in January. These are markets that should remain demanding throughout this year", assesses ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
