Mato Grosso will host the world's largest meat event this year
From October 27 to 30, 2025, Cuiabá will become the world capital of animal protein, bringing together leaders, experts and industry representatives to discuss the future of meat production and trade. Organized by the Mato Grosso Meat Institute (Imac) in collaboration with the International Meat Secretariat (IMS), the WMC is one of the most important global forums on animal protein.
The event, which takes place every two years, has already been held in countries such as the United States, Argentina and Uruguay, and is coming to Brazil for the first time, consolidating Mato Grosso as a protagonist on the world meat scene.
According to Imac's executive director, Paula Sodré Queiroz, the congress will be an opportunity to discuss the challenges and prospects of the agricultural sector, with high-level forums that will address sustainable production, health, traceability, the international market and food safety.
“Our decades-long history has allowed us to accumulate unique knowledge, which places us in a prominent position in the production of beef, pork, fish, poultry and others. If Mato Grosso were a country, today it would be in seventh place in production and export of animal protein. And it will be extremely important to place the State at the center of global attention and discussions related to the sector,” Paula stressed.
Both Imac and the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec) are Brazilian entities in the sector that will represent Brazil in this discussion forum. The opportunity aims to understand the difficulties and create possibilities that meet the interests of those involved in the production chain and consumers of animal protein.
With the international participation of different sectors that make up the meat production chain, the program will address topics such as productivity improvements, sustainability, health-related issues, trade negotiations, animal care, nutrition and consumer trends.
There will be panels on specific topics, analyses of current market trends and presentations of scientific research proposing mechanisms for sustainable production. In addition, there will be discussions of difficult challenges, including non-tariff barriers and lab-grown proteins.
