Ukraine increases poultry exports
211,200 tonnes of poultry have been exported by Ukraine in the first six months of 2019, marking an increase of 38.4%, according to the State Fiscal Service. The value was estimated at $307 million, up by 27.5% year-on-year.
Imports of poultry in January-June 2019 slightly fell, to 60,500 tonnes worth $24.4 million, down by 4.7% y-o-y.
Ukraine has increased its presence in the EU poultry market taking advantage of the ban placed on 20 Brazilian establishments in the second half of 2018 and a trade deal that allows poultry exports at low tariffs.
In 2019, Ukraine has opened new markets for poultry such as Bosnia Herzegovina and Middle East countries.
