The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reported that 114 new outbreaks of African swine fever were reported worldwide between 25 December and 7 January, compared to 218 cases verified in the previous survey.
The total number of outbreaks in progress rose from 7,865 to 7,927, with 4,228 outbreaks only in Romania and 1,336 in Vietnam. Of the new outbreaks, 74 were reported in Europe and 40 in Asia. The data are included in a biweekly survey released by the OIE. According to the organization, new or ongoing outbreaks have been recorded in 23 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

In Europe, Germany, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine still have the incidence of the disease.
