Venison sausages recalled due to undisclosed ingredients
5.6 tonnes of smoked venison sausage that contains products that were not represented on the label were recalled from the market, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The fully cooked smoked venison sausage containing beef, pork and other nonmeat products items were produced from May 3, 2017, through March 22, 2019. These items were shipped to distributors and retailers in the state of Texas. The problem was discovered during routine labelling verification by FSIS on April 10, 2019. So far, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
Nevertheless, FSIS recommends consumers to throw away these products or return it to the place of purchase.
