British Young's Seafood expands in the US and targets China
Young's Seafood, a British enterprise that entered the US market in January by associating with The Fishin’ Company, announced that is ready to expand its presence in the American market.
Grimsby, a Young's Seafood subsidiary that operates in the US, is already selling its frozen seafood meals in 13,000 Walmart, Sam’s Club, and several grocery chains operated by Ahold Delhaize but has also started negotiations with an additional 1,300 U.S. grocery stores in order to expand its presence in this market, reports Seafood Source.
"Driving exports is a key pillar of our strategic growth plan and the continued success of the U.S. market demonstrates the strength and popularity of our brand. Our consumer research highlights that British provenance is a key selling point in the U.S., where we are now one of the fastest-growing brands, and we believe there is scope to replicate this success in Europe, China, and many other export markets", explained Young’s Seafood CEO, Bill Showalter.
At the same time, Young's is exploring China's market as an opportunity to develop new partnerships with retailers. "We want to continue the good progress with our plans to take further steps to build the brand in this market during 2018/2019", informs the company.
