Brazil: Chicken meat exports grow in volume and revenue in October

The increase in revenue was even more significant, reaching 25%, with US$904.4 million recorded in October of this year, compared to US$723.5 million in the same month of 2023.

In the year (January to October), chicken meat exports accumulated an increase of 2%, with 4.38 million tons in 2024, against 4.29 million tons in 2023. The accumulated revenue in the period reached US$ 8.177 billion, a balance 1.5% lower compared to the previous year, with US$8.301 billion.

In the analysis by destination, China (the main importer) registered an increase of 30.4% in October, with 53.5 thousand tons this year. Next are Japan, with 39.9 thousand tons (+19.2%), Mexico, with 35 thousand tons (+21.6%), the United Arab Emirates, with 31 thousand tons (-11.7%) and the Philippines, with 24.6 thousand tons (73.9 %).

"There was notable growth in several strategic markets, which are destinations for high value-added products. This is the case of China, Japan and the European Union, with double-digit growth in the month. Part of the significant growth in revenue in October is due to this trade movement. The global market also continues to be pressured by issues related to Avian Influenza. Since Brazil's industrial production is free of the disease, poultry exporters continue to experience high demand", says ABPA president Ricardo Santin.

Paraná is the main exporter of chicken meat in Brazil, with 190 thousand tons exported in October (+14.3% compared to the previous year), followed by Santa Catarina, with 105.5 thousand tons (+27.1%), Rio Grande do Sul, with 56 thousand tons (-2.8%), São Paulo, with 28.7% (+13%) and Goiás, with 18.9 thousand tons (+6%).
