9 tonnes of beef patties recalled from the market

Advance Pierre Foods is recalling 9.2 tonnes of frozen beef patties from the market due to possible foreign matter contamination, announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The frozen ready-to-eat flame-broiled beef patties may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically soft purple plastic, according to FSIS inspectors. The items were produced on November 30, 2018, and shipped to food service locations nationwide. The problem was discovered on April 1, 2019 after the firm received two consumer complaints regarding soft purple plastic found in the product. FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in food service freezers. Food service locations who have purchased these products are urged not to serve or consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
