INTERPORC consolidates the position of Spanish white pork in Asia

This fair, which is being held in the pavilion organized by ICEX Spain Export and Investment, is one of the most important food and hospitality fairs in Southeast Asia and runs from April 8 until April 11. Five leading companies from the Spanish pork sector are present at the exhibition: ElPozo, Grupo Jorge, ICP - International Casing Products, Olot Meats, and Vall Companys Charcuterie.

The goal is to continue positioning Spanish pork products among consumers in that country, presenting them as a safe, sustainable, traceable, and high-quality option to the main players in the sector in the region.

Furthermore, on the second day of the fair, INTERPORC representatives organized a full schedule of B2B meetings with 10 importers from Malaysia, another strategic market in the region with significant growth potential and high demand for quality products.

Specifically, in 2024, Spanish exports to Singapore reached 7,632 tons, valued at more than €34 million, making Spain the country's third-largest pork supplier. Meanwhile, 25,864 tons were exported to Malaysia, valued at €72 million.

Visitors to the stand will be able to enjoy fusion cooking shows featuring Western and Asian cuisine, led by renowned local chef Richard Ang, as well as Serrano ham tastings by Jesús García, 2019 champion of the INTERPORC International Ham Cutting Competition. All of this will be accompanied by informative materials on the Spanish production system, which focuses on sustainability, animal welfare, and food safety.

Daniel de Miguel, INTERPORC's international director, emphasized that "Singapore is not only an important market in itself, but also a gateway to other Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia. Being present at this fair allows us to continue building strong business relationships and demonstrate the Spanish pork sector's commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.â",
