dsm-firmenich and Tianlai Livestock Group partner to improve the environmental sustainability of cattle farming
The two organisations have come together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement dsm-firmenich’s Sustell™
The agreement, signed 7th January 2025, will see Tianlai Livestock Group leverage the Sustell™ platform to help bridge gaps in the domestic beef cattle industry in China, improve industry standards, and encourage more enterprises and farmers in China to adopt low-carbon farming practices. This will be China’s first core data platform dedicated to the low-carbon beef cattle industry.
Zhang Sheng, Chairman of Tianlai Livestock Group said, "With quality at the core of our operations, Tianlai Livestock Group is committed to empowering the entire beef cattle value chain, ensuring traceability and safety from farm, to factory, to table. This collaboration with dsm-firmenich is a critical step in response to China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality strategy and with the help of dsm-firmenich’s expertise we will be able to drive the beef cattle sector towards sustainable growth".
Zane Zeng, B2F Director Greater APAC at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health said, "Tianlai Livestock Group's strong presence in the livestock industry and its commitment to sustainability are important factors in our collaboration. We firmly believe that, by leveraging the advances of the Sustell™ intelligence platform and Tianlai's solid industrial foundation, we can jointly establish a role model, and this partnership will serve as a valuable pioneer for driving the green transformation of the livestock sector".
Dr. Mongkol Kaewsutas, Director Precision Services Greater APAC at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health said, "We are excited to partner with Tianlai Livestock Group in this groundbreaking initiative to advance sustainable cattle farming in China. By implementing our Sustell™ platform, we will provide the Chinese beef industry with robust data-driven insights to measure and optimize their environmental footprint. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in promoting sustainable practices across the entire value chain, while supporting China's ambitious carbon reduction goals".
