'Virtual Green Office': JBS expands service hub to producers across Brazil
JBS, one of the largest food companies in the world, is expanding its support services for producers under the JBS Green Offices program throughout Brazil, through a new virtual service channel. The launch of EV Virtual is an expansion of the successful Green Offices program, created in 2021 and which has already enabled 13,000 rural properties to return to the supply chain by regularizing documentation and socio-environmental liabilities, with 5,000 hectares earmarked for environmental recovery.
Now, in addition to in-person service at 20 JBS units, producers will be able to seek support via email, phone and WhatsApp. The Virtual Green Office will be responsible for providing initial support, filtering and categorizing requests to generate solutions for producers or directing them to in-person support at the Green Office in the region closest to the producer. The goal of the new service channel is to strengthen partnerships with producers and provide access to new producers seeking environmental regularization of their properties. In this way, the Green Office teams will be able to focus on meeting specific demands in an even more personalized manner and closer to partner producers.
"It is very rewarding to actively participate in the construction of more sustainable production links through effective support and practical, safe and technological resources for rural producers. Now, they can count on a more complete service model from Escritório Verde, our rural extension program that proves to be of great use to the sector day after day", explains Liège Correia, Sustainability Director at JBS Brazil.
"The Virtual Green Office is a new way of serving producers with greater flexibility and scope. With this launch, we intend to further expand access to the program in a practical and efficient way", says Fábio Dias, Friboi’s Livestock Director and leader of Regenerative Agriculture at JBS Brazil.
Success in the field: EV 2.0, Cowbot and Transparent Livestock Platform
The launch of the Virtual Green Office is part of JBS's strategy to continue advancing in a sustainable supply chain by expanding platforms to support producers, investing in productivity, innovation and sustainability. As an example of this, since 2021, the Company has had the Transparent Livestock Platform, a system that allows JBS suppliers to apply the same socio-environmental criteria to their own suppliers. In addition, JBS recently launched the 'Cowbot' tool , which allows livestock farmers to make free inquiries about the socio-environmental situation of their supply chain, through a chatbot and the location data of the property with which they are negotiating.
In addition, this year, JBS also began operating Green Offices 2.0, a hub for providing socio-environmental services to small rural producers, which offers assistance on three different fronts: Green Environmental Office, for environmental regularization and commercial requalification of farms in the production chain; Green Technical Assistance Office, for support in improving soil quality, aiming at pasture recovery, aiming at increasing productivity and profitability of family farms; and Green Management Assistance Office, which provides training and tools aimed at improving management and productivity for producers to perfect the administration of their production and properties.
