Vietnam reports slowdown in tuna export growth in September
VASEP said that the country's tuna exports reported unstable growth this year with the rate reaching 20.4% in August and 2.1% in July.
Still the Vietnamese association adds that there was important growth reported in a number of markets such as Spain and Canada.
In September alone, Vietnam exported US$53 million worth of tuna products to the markets, bringing the total export value in the first nine months to nearly US$474 million, increasing by 10.3% over the same period in 2017.
Vietnam's exports of tuna to the European Union slowed down in September. The growth rate slipped from 47% in August to 1.3% in September.
Still, for the first nine months of 2018, tuna exports to the market this year has grown well by 22% over the same period in 2017, reaching US$118 million.
