Vietnam is building a high tech shrimp farming area
Vietnam is taking quick steps in developing the fishing industry by implementing a high-tech project dedicated to shrimp farming.
Based in Bac Lieu province, the shrimp farming area covers 418.91 hectares which will serve as a centre linking with institutes, schools and businesses using high technology in shrimp breeding, creating a chain from producing parent shrimp and varieties to super-intensive farming, processing, preservation and food production research, reports Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
More than 20 businesses registered to invest in the shrimp farming area, while many institutes and schools signed agreements to connect, transfer and apply advanced technologies. By now, the total registered investment amounted to 114,1 million dollars. The total expected investment is about 140 million dollars.
