Ukrainian egg exports have almost doubled
The volume of Ukrainian egg exports in the first four months of the year has grown considerably compared to the same period of 2018. According to official data released by the State Fiscal Sevice of the country, Ukraine exported 52,690 tonnes of eggs, with half of the volume shipped in the Middle East markets such as UAE and Iraq.
The UAE market is the main destination for Ukrainian eggs, with 14,000 tonnes worth $12.7 million. Iraq comes second with 13,770 tonnes ($12.4 million)and the third place is occupied by Latvia with 5,000 tonnes of eggs, worth $4.7 million. In monetary terms, egg exports amounted to USD 47.5 million vs. USD 28.11 million in January-April 2018, said the report.
