Tyson Foods recalls 31 tonnes of ready to eat chicken
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) triggered the alarm at Tyson Foods after receiving two consumer complaints of extraneous material in the chicken strip products.
The company must recall more than 31 tonnes of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strip products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of metal, FSIS announced.
The items were produced on November 30, 2018, and shipped to retail locations nationwide and for institutional use in locations in Michigan and Washington. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
