Turkish poultry production in decline
Turkey has reported a decline in poultry production for February, compared to the same month of 2020. Hen egg production decreased by 7.3%, chicken meat production decreased by 8.2%, the number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 8.9% and turkey meat production decreased by 18.3% in February compared with the same month of the previous year, reports TurkStat.
Hen egg production decreased by 5.9%, chicken meat production decreased by 6.9%, the number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 7.7% and turkey meat production decreased by 22.5% in the January-February period compared with the same period of the previous year. Chicken meat production decreased by 8.4% in February compared with the previous month and realized as 158,715 tonnes. The number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 7.7% in February compared with the previous month and realized as 88.775 million units. Hen egg production decreased by 8.5% in February compared with the previous month and realized as 1.6 billion units. Turkey meat production decreased by 0.1% in February compared with the previous month and realized as 3,463 tonnes.
