Turkey's poultry production decrease in June
Turkey's poultry production decreased in June on almost every segment, reports the Turkish Statistical Institute.
According to the official data, hen egg production (1.5 billion units) decreased by 5.5% in June compared with the previous month and decreased by 0.7% compared with the same month of the previous year. The number of the slaughtered chicken (102 million) decreased by 11.1% in June compared with the previous month and decreased by 2.5% compared with the same month of the previous year. The number of the slaughtered turkey (572,000) decreased by 7.6% in June compared with the previous month and increased by 33.3% compared with the same month of the previous year.
Chicken meat production (178,571 tonnes) decreased by 10.7% in June compared with the previous month and decreased by 1.3% compared with the same month of the previous year. Turkey meat production (6,200 tonnes) decreased by 10% in June compared with the previous month and increased by 37.8% compared with the same month of the previous year. According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series, chicken meat production decreased by 1.2% compared with the previous month. According to the calendar adjusted series chicken, meat production decreased by 0.04% compared with the same month of the previous year.
