Turkey increased poultry production at the end of Q1
Turkish chicken meat production increased by 24.1% in March compared with the previous month and realized as 196,963 tonnes. At the same time, the number of the slaughtered chicken increased by 16.9%. Elevated levels, compared with February, were also reported for egg production - 1.7 billion units, up 6.6%, and turkey, 3, 688 tonnes (+6.5%).
Year-on-year, Chicken meat production increased by 2.8%, hen egg production increased by 0.1%, the number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 5.9% and turkey meat production decreased by 27.5% in March compared with the same month of the previous year.
Chicken meat production decreased by 3.5%, hen egg production decreased by 3.9%, the number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 7% and turkey meat production decreased by 24.3% in the January-March period compared with the same period of the previous year, informs TurkStat.
