Kanpai Group imported 200 kilograms of beef from the Miyazaki Prefecture which were distributed to businesses such as the Regent Hotel and the Breeze Center supermarkets.

Taiwan imports almost 95% of its beef. The US is the main supplier, followed by Australia and New Zealand.

In 2000, Japan exported a small amount of beef and beef products to Taiwan, 4 tons respectively, representing just about 0.01% of the total amount of beef imported by Taiwan.
