Spain provides funds worth €150 million for the meat sector
The Spanish government decided to step up and help the meat industry to overcome the effects of the war in Ukraine. €154,7 million will be provided to producers of beef, sheep and goat meat, chicken meat, rabbit meat will receive a total of €154.7 million of the €193.4 million euros of aid announced by the Government at the end of March to alleviate the delicate situation of these sectors as a result of the effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Specifically, the amounts of aid that the ministry proposes for the meat sector are as follows: Beef meat, up to 110million; Sheep and goat meat, up to 31.7 million; Chicken meat, up to 10 million; Rabbit meat, up to 3 million. Ceilings for eligible animals will be established and, consequently, maximum aid per farm, as well as maximum unit amounts per animal.
This aid is provided for in the national response plan to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine and will be financed with €64.49 million from EU funds and €128.98 million national budget.
