Slices of Happiness lands at Cherry Blossom Watch in Washington DC
The actions organized in Washington on these dates have coincided with Cherry Blossom Watch, a festival that takes place every year in the US capital around the part of the Tidal Basin, in West Potomac Park.
The tradition of this annual festival comes from the gift made in 1912 by the mayor of Tokyo, Yukio Ozaki, to the United States to increase friendship and strengthen the relationship between both nations.
And although it may seem surprising, cherry blossoms and Spanish Ham have more in common than meets the eye. Numerous studies have shown how spring increases the happiness levels of the population thanks to factors such as greater exposure to light. In line with this, science affirms that Spanish Ham is a great ally to reduce anxiety and stress thanks to its levels of tryptophan ( the hormone of happiness ).
This emotion generated by the brain is worth sharing with the whole world and for this reason, they wanted to give happiness to all Americans through ham in this festival with one of the star products of Spanish gastronomy.
The “ Slices of Happiness” food truck has distributed slices of happiness to visitors from all the countries who have been able to enjoy this year, again and with total normality after the pandemic, this spectacle of music and color.
