Singapore halted the imports of pork from Belgium
The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore has announced that it will still allow the imports of processed pork products which comply with the OIE guidelines for the inactivation of the ASF virus.
Furthermore, the authorities announced that there are additional requirements as to facilitate the clearance of permits for processed pork products.
The following additional attestation are required to be included in the Veterinary Health Certificate accompanying the processed pork products:
- the meat has been subject to heat treatment in a hermetically sealed container with a F0 value of 3.00 or more; or
- the meat has been subject to heat treatment for at least 30 minutes at a minimum temperature of 70oC throughout the meat.
Two cases of ASF were confirmed last week in Belgium on wild boar population in the country. The cases were reported in Etalle, a small town in the province of Luxembourg, not far from the French border.
