Sealpac celebrates 4 years in plastic reduction

Machine packaging producer Sealpac is celebrating 4 years in plastic reduction and intends to respond to the consumers' demand in sustainability. "The biggest change in the last 10 years is roughly 60%-70% reduction in the thickness and volume of materials. The quality of trays has exponentially improved – and this means an increased need for accurate and high-quality tray sealing equipment. Thankfully, with a Sealpac machine, we have already been supporting the Circular Economy for the last 4 years and we are able to keep up with emerging packaging solutions,”, explained Kevin Witheford, Managing Director at Sealpac UK.
For the next decade, the market s expected to see increased demand for eco-friendly solutions in packaging, even if a total ban on plastic doesn't look like a viable solution for the future.
Over the last four years, the company has focused on being carbon neutral and the three core principles of the circular economy: reduction, reuse and recycling. 3 innovative solutions have been tested and implemented in several countries across the globe to achieve the goal of being carbon neutral: EasyLid, FlatSkin, Monoplastic, informs the company in a press release.
