Rwanda looks to export more beef to China
A delegation of China's Alibaba has recently met in the Rwandan capital of Kigali with the Rwanda Development Board (RBD) to discuss the exports of agro-products to the Asian country, as reported by the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
RDS said in a statement that the partnership with the Chinese e-commerce giant is supposed to provide the necessary infrastructure in order to boost agro-processing, lower the cost of air-freight transport and provide more trainings to Rwandan entrepreneurs that will help them trade more in terms of volume and other ways.
According to Chinese media, the delegation comes as a result of the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP), an agreement signed between Rwandan authorities and Alibaba in October. This is the first eWTP launched by an African country.
