Revenue from poultry genetics exports grows in August
Considering the volume exported, sales of poultry genetics fell by 14.9%, with 1,299 thousand tons exported in the eighth month of 2022, against 1,527 thousand tons in the previous year.
In the accumulated total for the year, sales of poultry genetics are up 15.5%, with US$ 110.3 million in 2022, against US$ 95.4 million in the previous year.
In terms of volume, there was a retraction of 2% in the comparison between 2022 and 2021, with 9,698 thousand tons exported this year, against 9,892 thousand tons registered last year.
Among the main destinations for the sector's exports in 2022, Mexico stands out, with 37.4% of the volume shipped between January and August, followed by Senegal, with 31.7%, Paraguay, with 17.9% and Bolivia, with 3%.
“Despite a slight retraction in the volume exported by Brazil in 2022, there is a notable increase in the sector's average export prices, which indicates increased market pressure for poultry genetics. It is expected that this situation will continue throughout this year”, analyzes the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
