Revenue from exports of genetic material increases in 2022
In July alone, shipments of 1-day-old chicks and fertile eggs reached US$ 14 million, a result 17.5% higher than in the seventh month of 2021, with US$ 11.9 million.
In terms of volume, international sales of genetic material remained high by 0.4% in 2022, with 8,398 thousand tons in the first seven months of this year, against 8,365 thousand tons in 2021.
Considering only the month of July, there was a retraction of 20.2%, with 1,123 thousand tons in 2022 and 1,408 thousand tons last year.
Among the main export destinations, Mexico stands out, which leads shipments in 2022 with US$ 16.5 million (+102.7%), followed by Peru US$ 11.2 million (+3.1%) and Senegal, with US$ 10.5 million (-8.6%).
“We are following a change in international sales of poultry genetics, with increased sales in nations in the Americas. In this context, Brazil has expanded its international participation in the poultry genetics sector, reinforcing its role as an export platform in the segment”, says the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
