The virus has now spread for the first time to the south of the country. There were two cases reported in the province of Yunnan on Sunday, while the latest outbreaks took place in two small farms in Zhaotong, a city in the northeast of Yunnan. Another outbreak was also reported in the province of Zhejiang, as reported by Reuters.

There were 545 pigs that died in the farms from Zhaotong after the disease was confirmed and, according to local media, and another 7,000 pigs were culled in the area around the farm in order to prevent the spreading of the virus.
