Polish farmers to get affordable loans
Last week, Polish National Center for Agricultural Support (KOWR) launched a new line of loans as the cheapest financial model for individual farmers. The announcement was made by the general director of KOWR, Piotr Serafin and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski.
"Close cooperation in the entire food chain - from farm to table - is the road to the development of Polish agriculture, and a friendly and effective credit system is conducive to it. When we deal with the most important, current problems, we will concentrate on innovative and investment activities", said the minister, referring to the intention of creating a fund for innovation and development.
The National Center for Agricultural Support has launched the possibility of borrowing from the resources of the State Treasury Agricultural Property. The beneficiaries of the program may be farmers running family farms, such that the total area of agricultural land does not exceed 300 ha. At the same time, these farms carry out development and innovation activities in the areas of, for example, production, breeding and processing. The preferential interest rate will be 2.85% per annum. The maximum loan amount can not exceed 80%. investment costs. According to the Financial Plan of KOWR for 2018, PLN 10 million (€2.3 million) has been allocated for this purpose.
"The loans proposed to farmers will be granted up to a maximum of PLN 500,000 (€116,370) or 6 years with the possibility of extending up to 10 years", explained Piotr Serafin.
