Pakistan's meat exports expected to reach $250 million

The association further added that the meat exports between March and April were worth $61 million. The export value reported in these two months compensated for the low value reported in the first eight months of this fiscal year. As a result, in the first 10 months, Pakistani meat exports reached $190 million.

Exporters have announced that in May there was also an increase in meat shipments and they expect June to be another good month regarding export growth. As reported by Dawn, this means that Pakistan's meat exports will reach $250 million by the end of the current fiscal year, up from $221 million in the previous fiscal year, but lower than the level of $269 million reported in the fiscal year 2016.

According to Dawn, Pakistan's increase in meat exports is based mainly on the rise in shipments to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, and some others including Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
