Miratorg reports the first batch of lamb delivered in the market
The first lamb meat produced by Miratorg has reached the Russian market in January after the company has started its pilot sheep farm in 2018. The sheep breeding complex provided company’s meat processing plant with the first batch of lamb of over 3,970 kg in live weight and other sheep farms are going to be built in Central Federal region, announced the company in a press release.
The sheep farm is situated in Fatezh district of Kursk region and provides a full production cycle from breeding of nucleus herds with high genetics to animal fattening. Lambs stay on the farm till 4-6 year of age and 45-55 kg of weight. The production center corresponds to the highest international standards and implements the technologies of the sheep breeding leaders such as Australia and Great Britain.
“We see that consumer demand for this type of products is very strong. In future, we are going to launch a few other sheep farms in Central Federal region. Extension of the pilot project will make this type of meat more available to the Russian population and promote the export potential of the domestic meat industry”, Miratorg’s press service comments.
