Marfrig completed the first export of kosher bone-in beef to Israel
The operation occurred after the recent health authorization that Argentine received from that country for the dispatch of this product. The shipment was made by the Marfrig meat company from Villa Mercedes, San Luis.
It should be noted that, in 2023, Senasa certified the export of 36,800 tons of boneless beef to Israel. That country is the third largest buyer of products of animal origin.
The request from the Argentine authorities had been made in January after the Asian country allowed the entry of bone-in meat first from Uruguay and then from Paraguay.
Now, this operation, which involves the opening of a new market such as kosher bone-in beef, occurred after earlier this month the veterinary director of Imports and Exports of the Veterinary and Animal Health Service of Israel (Isvath), Shlomo Garazi, will officially communicate the approval of the veterinary certificate for the shipment of this type of products.
Marfrig projected that with this new market they could increase beef exports to Israel by 30%, reaching 700 tons per month.
The company has a "portfolio" of well-known brands on the shelves such as Paty, GoodMark, Viennisima, Green Life, QuickFood, Gaucho's Beef among others.
The Israeli market is the third destination for Argentine beef exports, with 33,437 tons of product weight acquired between January and November of last year, according to the latest monthly report from the Chamber of Meat Industry and Commerce. But all this meat exported from Argentine, until now, was "boneless".
In this market the average price was equivalent to US$6,133 dollars per ton, with a turnover that totaled US$205.1 million in the first eleven months of the year.
"We continue working with the private sector and different organizations in order to add new markets for national products and, in this way, increase exports", highlighted the president of Senasa, Pablo Cortese.
