MHP reports significant disruption in supply

MHP, one of the largest poultry producers in Ukraine and in Europe has been hardly impacted by the unexpected Russian invasion. The company that delivers more than 400,000 tonnes of poultry and poultry products into the Ukrainian market reported significant disruption in the supply chain and confirmed that is seeking alternative routes to supply food for the Ukrainian people.
In a recent statement, the company pledged unconditional and free deliveries to Ukrainian armed forces, hospitals, and communities facing difficult conditions. MHP covers almost half of the poultry consumption in the Ukrainian market and affirmed that is ready to relocate its production sites, if needed, to continue production and deliveries in the domestic market. It said ensuring the safety of its workers is its first priority with securing national food-security requirements as it's second. It said that where necessary and possible it is ensuring worker relocations to safe areas and that it is providing financial support if necessary. Currently, MHP is unable to supply any export market with products from its Ukrainian plants due to ongoing attacks from Russian troops in the country. Moreover, the recruitment order issued by president Zelensky for men 18 to 60 years old is expected to create a huge lack of personnel in the Ukrainian food supply chain, along with the continuous flow of refugees from the country.
The company also operates in the EU market and other countries in the region, where it holds Ptuj Perutnina processing unit in Slovakia and poultry producing units in Serbia.
