MHP moves workforce from Donetsk region

MHP suspended all activities at its pork processing unit in Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. According to a press release from the company, MHP helps employees of the PJSC Ukrainian Bacon company with evacuation. "We transfer some employees to other MHP enterprises and provide temporary housing. All employees of the company will be provided with financial compensation," MHP announced in a press release.
For more than a month, the Ukrainian meat producer provided the operational activities of the PJSC "Ukrainian Bacon" unit and supported the supply of raw materials needed for production and logistics of finished products.
"However, the situation in the Donetsk region is getting worse. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the occupying forces of the Russian Federation continue to concentrate large forces in the east of the country. A further offensive by the occupiers in the Donetsk region increases the risks and dangers to the lives of the company's employees and makes it impossible to operate. The greatest value of MHP is people, so the company is forced to temporarily suspend the work at this unit to ensure the safety of its employees", said the press release.
Currently, MHP is actively working on the launch of other production sites in order to continue to provide Ukrainians with high-quality products that used to be produced in that unit. "We are confident that companies will take this message as responsible partners who understand that the safety of employees in the face of war is a priority for MHP. We are also confident that together with all our partners we will be able to cope with temporary difficulties.
At the same time, MHP continues to see the key task for itself - maintaining food security in Ukraine, so it will make every effort to restore the supply of meat and sausage products to Ukrainian consumers," the company informed.
