Largest employer in Brazil, JBS will promote 40 000 people in 2024

In addition to supporting the growth of its professionals, the company also intends to open 5,000 jobs, advancing as the largest employer in the country.

JBS, one of the largest food companies in the world, has been investing in the development of its talents as a growth strategy and plans to promote 40 000 employees this year, which represents 26% of its workforce in the country. In 2023, the company had already closed the year with 26 000 people promoted. In addition to supporting the growth of its professionals, the company also intends to open 5,000 jobs, advancing as the largest employer in the country. Today 152 000 people work at JBS.

For Fernando Meller, executive director of People and Management , the Company is committed to taking care of the people who make the business evolve on a daily basis. Professional qualification is essential in this sense. “This is essential for us to continue growing, creating opportunities for a better future, which is part of our mission", says Meller. For JBS, creating a welcoming and quality environment for its employees is essential. "One of our values is determination. We have many people who wake up early and dedicate themselves to being better every day. They are the ones who build the company and it is for them that we have to create the conditions to develop and grow",  explains Meller.

JBS' strategy includes courses and training for employees, in partnership with the J&F Institute, a business education center that supports the activities of educational companies. The Company also offers its employees the opportunity to internationalize their careers: with the JBS Without Borders program, created in 2015, the Company organizes selection processes that allow employees from Brazil to work in operations abroad, with vacancies for all hierarchical levels and departments spread across the world.

"What moves us are the people. When we see an employee embarking on a new experience abroad or when we see several generations of a family working together, we feel very proud and are sure that we are on the right path. We want people to feel good about working at JBS", says Meller.

According to recent data from Fipe (Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas), the production networks linked to JBS generate 2.10% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and contribute to the generation of 2.73% of the country's jobs. The data reinforces the Company's contribution to the production of wealth, income and jobs in Brazil. JBS is among the largest global food companies, with more than 500 units and offices in 24 countries, employing 270 thousand people globally. Its products are present in more than 190 countries, reaching 330 thousand customers on all continents.
