Kuwait halts beef imports from South Korea and Zimbabwe over FMD outbreaks
The supreme food safety committee from Kuwait has urged authorities to set temporary restrictions for beef imports coming from Zimbabwe and South Korea and recommended that bans on poultry imports from the UK, Denmark, Switzerland and from the US should be lifted since the countries have been declared birdflu-free, as reported by Kuwait Times.
The committee’s secretary Adel Al-Suwait also declared that based on the recommendations made in the committee’s meeting number 3/2018, imports of fresh, chilled and processed cow, sheep and goat meat from Kazakhstan should also be allowed back into Kuwait.
