Kerry Group expands its Russian operation

Kerry Group has been a constant presence in the Russian market since 2006 and now is expanding its business in the region by opening the first plant in the Istra district of Moscow.
Production is to start immediately with ingredients for the meat processing and snacks market, informs Food Ingredients First magazine.
The plant and the warehouse have been built occupies a site of 7,000 square meters and the full capacity is designed to reach 26,000 tonnes per year. The official opening ceremony was held last week in the presence of Andrei Razin, Minister of Agriculture for the Moscow region and Edmond Scanlon, Kerry Group Chief Executive.
According to Scanlon, the plant is going to use locally sourced raw materials for the ingredients delivered to the Russian market and other countries in the area. "We opened our regional development and application center in 2014, and the building of this state-of-the-art facility was for us the next logical step in the development of our business in the region", said Edmon Scanlon.
