Ionut Cretu, Export Manager, Smithfield Romania: We are entering external markets with ready-to-cook products

Romanian based Comtim, a Smithfield subsidiary, has presented a new range of products at the FoodExpo in Athens as a part of the new strategy to increase the presence of the company on the external markets in South East Europe.
Ionut Cretu, the Export Manager for Smithfield Romania, is very confident regarding the success of those products presented at the trade fair.
"They have proved to be successful on the domestic market and we believe that it will catch very well in the Greek market. They are ready-to-cook products and they represent different meat cuts with shorter time to cook than the traditional dishes. The market here, in Greece, it's very attractive. The market is quite virgin when we speak about ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook products", explained Cretu, in an interview for EuroMeatNews.

The Export Manager of Smithfield Romania is convinced that the new strategy for exports is going to be successful as all the big customers of Comtim are oriented now to the ready-to-cook line of products. "This is the future for our industry", said Ionut Cretu.
