Impossible Foods receives halal certification for its plant-based meat

The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) has offered the certification after confirming that all ingredients and production practices used to make Impossible Burger are completely halal-compliant according to Islamic dietary laws, as defined in the Koran and under Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) regulations.

The company said its goal is to make its plant-based meat available for everyone around the world, regardless of religion or culture heritage.

Impossible Foods has received earlier this year the kosher certification from the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, and last month, it received the Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification as administered by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
