INTERPORC presents 'The challenges of the Spanish pig sector' at SEPOR

Based on its content, this work is a comprehensive guide designed to provide professionals and companies in the swine sector with the data and analysis necessary to effectively adapt to increasingly challenging and constantly evolving challenges.

Daniel de Miguel, International Director of INTERPORC, and Manuel Laínez, Director of the Cajamar Group Foundation, have been in charge of explaining the content of the book, in which they have underlined the relevance of the data it provides for strategic decision-making in the sector.

As De Miguel pointed out, "the quality of the experts who participated in its preparation and the depth of their analysis have allowed us to gather up-to-date knowledge of the reality of the sector, while providing solid foundations for professionals to improve their performance".

Animal welfare

INTERPORC also participated in a roundtable on animal welfare in transport, where new legislative proposals were addressed and the sustainability of these measures was discussed. Critical points such as travel times and the reduction of densities in trucks, as well as the complexities of night transport during periods of high temperatures, were analysed.

These regulations have an impact not only on animal welfare, but also on the working conditions of drivers, something that was highlighted as essential in the debate.

The Interprofessional also participated in the SEPOR Gold Awards ceremony, where it presented the Export award to the Tello Group and the Diffusion award to Onda Agraria.

To conclude the fair, INTERPORC organised a ham tasting, together with ElPozo Alimentación, with master ham maker Roberto Arques and Mar López Moreno, from the University of Murcia, who discussed the nutritional properties of this jewel of the Spanish gastronomy.
