The Interprofessional INTERPORC has successfully concluded its presence at the WOFEX fair held in Manila (Philippines) between August 2 and 5, where it has developed important business contacts. with companies and representatives of the administration of that country.

INTERPORC: Great succes at WOFEX Philippines

This action, which is part of the Support Plan for the internationalization of the Spanish white-coated pig sector 2023, further strengthens relations with a market that in 2022 was the fourth market in volume for Spanish pigs (209,367 tons, 32, 7% more) and seventh in value (409.4 million euros, 59.8% more).

These figures make Spain the main supplier of pork in that country, "where we have been able to see how professionals in the meat sector and Filipino consumers appreciate the safety and quality of our products", explains the International Director of INTERPORC, Daniel de Miguel. .

In the first  stand that INTERPORC had, "the nine companies that have accompanied us have established a multitude of new contacts, besides holding many meetings with distributors they already knew," De Miguel points out.

The companies that went to Manila together with the Interprofessional were APM Frozen Meat, ElPozo Alimentación, Faccsa-Prolongo, Fribin, Grupo Jorge, La Comarca, Lorfood-Incarlopsa, Olot Meats Group – B&M Foods, Tello Food Group”.

Regarding the second stand of the Interprofessional, it was focused on the direct promotion of the products by focusing on the 'EU Pork, The Smart Choice' campaign.

This space has been one of the most dynamic at the fair, capturing the attention of visitors with demonstrations of cutting and tasting white layer ham and sausages, as well as holding numerous showcookings in which dishes with different products and cuts of white layer pork from Spain.

Taking advantage of the presence at the fair, INTERPORC and the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Manila organized the Spanish Pork Cocktail on August 2 . Daniel de Miguel highlighted the important presence of representatives of Philippines and Spanish institutions, along with prominent members of companies in the sector. More than 60 attendees who made possible the success of the call that, without a doubt, "has already contributed to solidify the strong commercial relations that we maintain with the Philippines".

In addition, INTERPORC representatives have visited several supermarkets in the city, where a promotional campaign has just started to give visibility and promote Spanish pork, as is already being done in other Asian countries.
