Hans-Peter Goldnick is the new president of the German poultry industry
The trained banker, born in the district town of Bad Segeberg, after his appointment: "I was practically born with a commitment to the poultry industry, because my parents were already involved back then. When I was asked whether I wanted to run for president, I took my time to make the decision. I spoke to important people - in my private life and also in our industry. In the end, I made up my mind: I want to use my name and all my skills to stand up for the issues and challenges in all areas of our great industry. Regardless of whether it is chickens, turkeys, eggs, ducks or geese: we produce good, healthy food in a sustainable and modern way. We ensure that Germany is supplied with these important foods. I will work every day and with all my strength to ensure that we receive fair and competitive framework conditions from politicians".
The family-run "Hornbrooker Hof", a laying hen farm built up by Hans-Peter Goldnick, employs 40 people.
With the new election, the current president, Friedrich-Otto Ripke, is ending his eight-year tenure for the ZDG: "Both poultry meat and chicken eggs are more popular today than ever before - in Germany and globally. The interests of our farmers and companies are in the right, strong hands with Hans-Peter Goldnick. I wish my successor all the best".
