China's ministry of agriculture said that the outbreak was spotted at a poultry farm with 11,810 birds, Reuters reported.

The Chinese authorities did not specify the type of birds affected by the virus on this farm.

Another case of bird flu was reported in the area earlier this year. Authorities had to cull more than 31,000 poultry.
