Global chefs descend on Victoria to explore Australian lamb

This global culinary experience is co-hosted by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and the Victorian Government, showcasing the finest Australian lamb and reinforcing its international reputation.

The Lambassador Program has brought together some of the world’s top chefs, who will embark on a week-long journey through Victoria, visiting lamb farms, processing facilities, and culinary hotspots.

The delegation will experience first-hand the expertise of local producers, the sustainability of Victoria’s agricultural practices, and the quality of Australian lamb that has made it a global leader in red meat.

According to MLA’s Group Manager of International Markets, Josh Anderson, this year’s program highlights the strength of MLA’s partnership with the Victorian Government in promoting Australian lamb to the world.

"We are proud to work together to create such an impactful experience for these international chefs, ensuring that Australian lamb continues to inspire global menus", Mr Anderson said.

Throughout the week, the chefs will participate in workshops, butchery demonstrations, and meet world renowned Yarra Valley producers. The program also provides opportunities for the chefs to meet local industry leaders, deepening their understanding of Australia's world-class lamb supply chain and culinary innovation.

The experience culminates in the Lambassador Gala Event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where key stakeholders from the Victorian Government, lamb producers, exporters, and the food service industry will gather to celebrate the delegation’s journey.

Michaela Settle MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture for the Victorian Government, delivered remarks on behalf of the Victorian Government, underscoring the importance of this partnership.

"Victoria is delighted to co-host this exceptional delegation with MLA", Ms. Settle said.

"Our collaboration ensures that Australian lamb’s reputation for quality and sustainability continues to grow in global markets. We are committed to supporting this industry and celebrating the role it plays in both Victoria’s and Australia’s agricultural success".

These Lambassador chefs will return to their home countries with fresh ideas and insights, becoming ambassadors for Australian lamb in their local markets.
