Food Expo 2020 to break record of participants
The 7th edition of Food Expo will bring in Athens, Greece more than 1,350 companies to showcase at this year's trade fair. With at least 350 companies from abroad and more than 1,000 Hellenic producers, Expo Food 2020 promises to break the previous record of participation, announce the organizers.
FOOD EXPO 2020 will be the meeting point for foreign exhibitors from over 38 countries such as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, India, Cyprus, Egypt, Spain, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, Ireland, Lebanon, Νorth Macedonia, South Korea, Israel, Romania etc.
The participating Greek and foreign exhibitors will exhibit products from the following main categories: dairy and cheese products, dough products, pastries, olive oil, meat, and meat products, as well as pastas, organic products, Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products, frozen food and vegetables, dressings and dips, fresh fish, juices, refreshments, ready-to-eat meals, etc.
India was chosen to be the honored country at FOOD EXPO 2020, with a national pavilion developed in a 405 sq.m. area in Hall 1, in which 50 of leading sector’s Indian companies will have the opportunity to showcase their products. Professional visitors will have the opportunity to come into contact with these 50 companies that produce, export and market products, mainly from the following categories: agri-food products, coffee, tea, sugar, sweets, rice, cereals, fruits, legumes, oils, spices, chutney, sesame. They will also have the opportunity to make direct profitable transactions that will help increase the competitiveness of their business.
Another highliht event included in the tarde fair's program is the Food Export Summit. This year, the summit's agenda will be focused on the Singapore market, aiming to bring Greek Food and Beverage companies closer to the largest trading hub in Asia. The Food Export Summit will be held on Saturday, March 7 at the Workshop & Seminars stage (right after the trade show’s opening ceremony). Among the keynote speakers, Mr. Panagiotis Hasapis, Executive Vice President of the Greek Exporters’ Association (SEVE), as well as major importers from companies based in Singapore, shall endeavor to shed light on this particular Asian market and the ways a Greek company can develop its business there. In addition, successful case studies of Greek companies that already export food and beverages in Singapore will be presented. At the same time, 20 major international food traders from Singapore will be present during the event and they will give their own insight on the market, while networking with executives from Greek F&B companies interested in exporting to Singapore.
