Ecuador to import Brazilian bovine embryos
According to the Brazilian ministry, the export of bovine embryos produced in vitro is relatively new in Brazil and started in August 2016. Prior to that date, there was no sanitary agreement to enable this trade, which involves a product of high value added by the technology employed.
Currently, Brazil already sells these embryos to Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia.
The Ecuadorian market is one of the largest importers of bovine semen in Brazil.
Under the agreement, producers in Ecuador will have access to one more type of animal multiplication material. Ecuadorians are expected to import large volumes of bovine embryos produced at the bovine genetic material collection and processing centers registered on the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture.
