Danish Crown plans unification between two of its divisions
"Feeding the Future" is the new strategy that Danish Crown plans to follow from now until 2026, with the aim of becoming the world's leading producer of sustainable meat. This will be possible by halving the company's climate footprint per kilogram of pork by 2030 and becoming a climate-neutral company by 2050.
“If meat is to lose its reputation as a climate culprit, fields must be cultivated wisely, manure must be managed critically, and animals must be cared for carefully. For generations, Danish farmers have been a key driver in global developments, putting Danish agriculture at the forefront of sustainability efforts,” the company stated explains.
In this context, Danish Crown will invest billions of crowns in farm-to-fork innovation to build a position where sustainability drives the incremental value of the Group's products.
As part of this strategy, from October 1 it will unify Danish Crown Pork, which is responsible for slaughtering the owners' pigs and selling fresh meat, and Danish Crown Foods, which is responsible for processing fresh meat throughout, from bacon to sausage, under a single business unit that will be renamed the Danish Crown and will be organized into three areas: sales, operations and categories.
