Copese Group wants to buy a bankrupt facility in Spain
Copese Group is interested in the acquisition of "Centro Cárnico de Villacastín", a meat processing facility that declared bankruptcy for a debt of €60 million, reports CDE Comunicacion portal.
The meat processing plant is worth €26 million and it is closed by 7 years now. In order for the transaction to take place, it is only necessary that it be authorized by the Commercial Court No. 5 of Madrid.
The facility is built on 80,000 sqm, of which more than 17,000 is represented by a slaughterhouse. Its daily operating capacity would be 400 cattle and 1,300 pigs and the factory comes with its own sewage treatment plant and its own water supply well. Before the bankruptcy was declared there were 400 people hired at the plant.
Copese Group is one of the leading Spanish meat producers and the holder of the brand Eresma. At the beginning of 2018, the processing capacity of its plants was at 4,500 pigs a week.
