Cedecarne points out the importance of Spanish tradition and gastronomic culture
Artisan work on food, especially meat products, has played an important role in providing quality products for the Spanish population this year, announce Cedecarne in a press release. As a result, a meeting to discuss the importance of tradition and gastronomic culture from Spain was held between the president of Cedecarne, Carlos Rodríguez; Secretary-General, María Sánchez, and the Executive Assistant of the organization, Elena Ovejas, have met with the Director of the Food Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, José Miguel Herrero, and with the Deputy Director-General of Promotion of Alimentos de España, Purificacion Gonaález. Both parts have shared their vision of the strategic projects that the Organization will develop in the coming months and also have analyzed the role that professionals in the specialized meat trade should play in the food chain in the coming years. A scenario that must contemplate the artisanal food production as a formula of distinction in the sector and as a way to maintain one of the richest cultural traditions of Spain, such as its gastronomy.
"In a year that has been difficult for everyone, but in which the admirable effort and sacrifice made by all those who have been working with great professionalism to continue offering consumers meat and meat products, foods so important in the world, have been recognized. Mediterranean diet needs to be preserved in the future and to continue to add value to the consumer," said the organisation. Also, Cedecarne has expressed the need for the traditional elaborations of the butcher shops to be recognized and to give value to the professionals, who bet on local ingredients and raw materials, which are a guarantee of culture and tradition.
