CLITRAVI elects new President and VPs
Giorgia Vitali was elected the President of the European Federation for the meat processing industry, CLITRAVI, after the General Assembly met this week in Salzburg.
CLITRAVI regroups and represents 28 national associations of meat processing industries, 25 of which belong to the EU while 3 others have an observer role. Giorgia Vitali, Representative of ASSICA, already held the role of vice-president of the federation since 2016. Vitali represents the third generation of a family company from Italy, Salumificio Vitali SpA.
"I thank my colleagues from the CLITRAVI for the trust and ASSICA, for the constant support of these years. My election represents a project for the future that I will undertake to carry out, with everyone's contribution. The objective is to bring the CLITRAVI where it deserves, to make it a transparent, credible and professional interlocutor for all institutional levels of the EU. The CLITRAVI will actively work on the construction of the European policies of the sector which, it is important to remember, cannot do without a solid Single Market, an indispensable prerequisite for facing the challenges of the future and on which we still have to work", said the new President.
She will be seconded by Dana Tanase (Romania), Bernard Vallat (France) and Frans Egberts (The Netherlands) elected as vice-presidents of CLITRAVI.
The new team aims to "build an ambitious long-term European industrial policy, which considers the food sector for what it is, the first European manufacturing sector", as Giorgia Vitali mentioned immediately after being elected.
