Bulgarian poultry and egg exports in UAE resume after 4 months ban
Bulgarian poultry products from farms situated in the provinces of Dobric and Haskovo are now allowed to the UAE's market after a ban imposed on last October was lifted recently.
The announcement was made by Ministry of Climate Change and Environment who has issued a statement to inform the public that all live domestic and wild ornamental birds, chicks and hatching eggs from Bulgaria are no longer banned in the UAE.
In October, UAE has imposed a ban on poultry products from the two provinces based on a notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health regarding highly pathogenic avian influenza in Bulgaria.
Bulgarian poultry meat and all the thermally untreated products, as well as table eggs, was banned from the imports. However, UAE still allowed imports from disease-free areas located at a radius of at least 25km from the affected farm that included an export health certificate.
